Have an old one from 1987. It is still going strong.
The advantages are the length of the control cable and therefore the ability to put it almost anywhere on the boat. Comes in handy when you want to let someone fish out of the fron of the boat. I would say mine is a little more difficult to control than a direct cable type. However, the contol on mine is one of the originals. It uses mostly mechanical control of the electrical circuits. I am sure the newer ones uise more electronic controls and therefore are easier to control. Even on mine not a big problem just annoying sometimes when it goes to far. My unit is a minkota by the way. Good luck John "CCred68046" wrote in message ... Does anyone have a MinnKota power drive trolling motor? Any problems with the steering servo motor? Is this better than the cable type steering setup? |
