So when Harry used a sock puppet to discuss his boat, and it was found the
sock puppet used the exact same IP as Harry, you just thought Harry was playing around. Ok I can understand your position. "Don White" wrote in message ... You're not a boater, and you'll never own a substantial boat. Sorry, don't own any trailers of that sort, or campers. Only own a boat trailer and a little tractor-cart trailer. Asphalt driveways are built on a gravel base, ****-for-brains. And these 'yahoos' wonder why you don't post a picture of the lobster boat. Give 'em nothing & take 'em nowhere! He says he does and I have no reason to believe otherwise. Back when it was being built in Maine, it was obvious he knew quite a bit about this style of boat, although I couldn't get him to admit that style of inshore fishery boat (Cape Islander)originated on Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia and those tricky Yankees 'borrowed' the design for their 'lobster boats'. |

Well, if that's the case, most people are boaters. 25 years of boat ownership with a temporary lack of boat ownership, combined with regular boating trips on the Lake makes me a boater. That is how. Make up a story about a boat you bought. Don't display any pictures of it. Then make up stories about trips you take on it. Simple. -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |

Also note that you stated that their weren't any croaker being caught in Herring Bay. Notice now, read CAREFULLY. Harry said he fished around the Lady Hooker THEN WENT TO HERRING BAY. Now, remember, your exclusive problem with Harry's post was that there were no croaker in Herring Bay. You posted on Tidalfish, and not ONE SINGLE PERSON has said anything like that. Next time you call your buddy and tell him to post to the message negatively, get it right at least!!! Actually, a little geography lesson is important here. Herring Bay is part of Chesapeake Bay. It basically is a several mile wide area of Chesapeake Bay whose main feature, I suppose, is Deale, MD, where Herring keeps his boat. Herring Bay is not sharply defined. Herring Bay itself is fairly shallow and as you exit it, Chesapeake Bay itself gradually gets deeper. When I saw the Lady Hooker, a substantial "head boat," it was well outside of Herring Bay, but in the general vicinity of it. The head boat was crowded, and the few times I looked over to it to see if there was any action where it was, I saw no bent rods. Several of the boats in my immediate area were catching pinfish and croakers. We also saw a few very large rays swimming about. The reality is, Herring ain't much of a fisherman. He seems to engage in only two aspects of the game...dragging heavy metal baits behind his boat, and dropping worms on the bottom, and keeps doing the same things, over and over and over and over and over. Well, if you drag baits long enough, sooner or later you will snag a fish. When I see a bunch of guys trolling, I'll get in the area but out of the traffic pattern, and liveline a pinfish or large shiner or other baitfish. I'll usually get the hit I want, and it sure as hell beats trolling. The reality is that you didn't see a croaker! -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |

Don,
It was about 2 yrs ago. He made a post from his sock puppet "a lurker in rec.boats". They went on to have a conversation about his boat, where the sock puppet saw his boat and the restaurant they both ate in, where they filled up with gas etc. Someone then noticed that the only other time the sock puppet made a post was in alt.test. Someone else noticed that the IP from the sock puppet and Harry's IP were one and the same. "Don White" wrote in message ... Wow. Someone caught two croakers out by #83 on Monday evening. He goes by the nickname 'NoBarbs', and strangely enough, he became a Tidalfish member on Tuesday, the 28th of June! Isn't it strange that we would be having this discussion about croaker catching (or not) and someone would join Tidalfish, happen across my post, and just happen to catch two croaker out by #83, which is just outside Herring Bay! What is even more coincidental is that the new member would have the same email as your old one!!
