Where is everyone?????
Where did all the posts go??? A week ago we had all the usual suspects
ranting on about how base and despicable the President, the government, the Nation, and most of the people are because seven American soldiers depanted some Iraqis and photographed them. Now we've got naught but a few desultory comments about the hacking off of Nick Berg's head on camera. For those who needed the reminder, the masked marvels on tape have shown our country exactly the type of people we are fighting. [I can't think of any group in history who felt the need to hide their faces and still enjoyed any ethical regard from civilized nations.] Where's the fury? All the anti-Bush folk were choking on righteous indignation at the humiliation of a few terrorists, but sound not a burp at the animalistic slaughter of an unconnected civilian US citizen. Then Harry comes up with that sophomoric drivel that it really isn't that bad because you still wind up dead. What the hell is wrong with you people? Like the medieval barbarians on the videotape, you have now shown your true colors for all to see. Worthless garbage, every one. |

Maybe everyone agrees. One thing is certain...more details of the tortures are coming to light and more than seven soldiers were involved. Oh...and the soldiers did a tad more than pull frat hazing pranks on prisoners. Now we've got naught but a few desultory comments about the hacking off of Nick Berg's head on camera. For those who needed the reminder, the masked marvels on tape have shown our country exactly the type of people we are fighting. [I can't think of any group in history who felt the need to hide their faces and still enjoyed any ethical regard from civilized nations.] There are many ways to hide one's face when one is killing civilians. One is to drop cluster bombs from a mile up in sky where no one can see your face. No need for a hood, eh? Oh...I know...if any of those bombs killed innocent civilians, well, we're sorry. Where's the fury? All the anti-Bush folk were choking on righteous indignation at the humiliation of a few terrorists, but sound not a burp at the animalistic slaughter of an unconnected civilian US citizen. Then Harry comes up with that sophomoric drivel that it really isn't that bad because you still wind up dead. Yet another attempt to take my simple expository writing and turn it into something I did not says. What I said was that from the point of view of the victim, the result was the same...death. We have a long history in THIS country ov violently killing people we don't like, and that is true from the federal government on down to lynching parties. In fact, a few years ago, some asswipe governor of Texas was making jokes about the last pleading moments of a woman he allowed to be executed. What the hell is wrong with you people? Like the medieval barbarians on the videotape, you have now shown your true colors for all to see. Worthless garbage, every one. And, don't forget, a direct result of Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld policies in Iraq. It is foolish to think that those with an entirely different culture will respond the way Christian America does, by simply bombing from above and lobbing in shells from tanks. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, eh? |

You can make any effort you want to explain away what you put in print. Nothing changes, for any of you. By your words and by your silence the truth becomes known. The mist dissolves and the face becomes clear. You, Doug, asskisser, et al -- show more concern for discommoded terrorists than for a fellow citizen being hacked to death merely for effect. |

The behavior of our soldiers in those prisons has gone a long way towards putting us down at the level of those we're supposed to be opposing. My guess is the prison torture story not only has legs, it is far more of them than we - or congress - have seen so far. And those people being held in those prisons were not just inconvenienced, as you claim. They were brutalized. As for Berg, he surely did not deserve being executed. He also was in a place he should't have been, and he was warned several times to get the hell out of Iraq. Or so our government claims. This entire mess - all of it, every bit of it - is the fault of George W. Bush and his neoconvict advisers. Bush has made a bad situation worse. And what about those oil prices...who is making the money there...his supporters in big oil? Halliburton? Bush's buddies in the terrorist state of Saudi Arabia? We've got a summer of interesting disclosures ahead. Bush will be paddling furiously to avoid going over the falls. |

Since the majority of these soldiers were trained while Bill Clinton was in
office, if you use your logic, Bill Clinton is to blame. Since the Generals were probably trained while Carter was in office, let's blame Carter for the Generals not being on top of things. ; ) "Harry Krause" wrote in message ... John, you are dealing with some folks who unashamedly hope for atrocities that will reflect badly on the administration. In their eyes, the prisoner abuse was a 'very bad' thing because it reflected negatively on the administration. Therefore they are happy it occurred. The beheading of Berg reflects badly on Al Quaeda, but not the administration. Therefore it is not nearly 'bad' enough for them to be happy about. Both acts were bad. But the beheading of an innocent person is much more severe and atrocious then the stripping, posing, and photographing of prisoners. Of course, Ted Kennedy and Harry will disagree, but who gives a rat's a$$. John H On the 'Poco Loco' out of Deale, MD on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay! |

The so-called "Arab street" doesn't give two ****s about the abu Ghraib photos, because that's exactly what they expect to happen in a prison. You can't **** this away anymore, Harry. You've shown where your loyalties and preferences lie. You are actively working against the best interests of the US. ... My guess is the prison torture story ..... There has been no documented torture, only allegations. The only documented events involve a rape at Camp Bucca last May, and piles of naked terrorists. Every allegation of torture so far has come from -- an Iraqi prisoner!!! Imagine that!! Taguba considered them credible for God only knows what reason. He also was in a place he should't have been, and he was warned several times to get the hell out of Iraq. Or so our government claims. Well, it is clearly his own fault that his head got hacked off, on camera. Happens all the time. This entire mess - all of it, every bit of it - is the fault of George W. Bush and his neoconvict advisers. Well, is it Bush's fault, or Berg's? Make up your mind! Pick someone, because it surely isn't Zarqawi's fault. God knows, we can't blame the f..ing Arab! Probably had a "deprived childhood", you know. And what about those oil prices...who is making the money there...his supporters in big oil? Halliburton? Bush's buddies in the terrorist state of Saudi Arabia? Oh, just shut up! Its all about oil? How f...ing dumb can you get? Your junior high school rationales are nothing but tripe, pumped out by your left wing pals and targeted at 2-digit IQs. I suppose it should tell us all something that you so readily buy into all the ****. You're believing your own press releases. God knows I've tried several times to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you've now proven me inarguably wrong -- you are, in fact, every bit as galactically senseless as you seem to be. |
