Everyone thinks I'm crazy, but I paint my hulls with exterior gloss
latex......approx $13/gal.

Cut it about 1:4 with water, and it sprays fine, with the right adjustments.

The thing about latex is that it looks as good as any, and gives you at
least a 3 yr finish. Doesn't need primer, either. Shoot several coats.
Cleanup is easy.

I had a 40' sportfishing boat. I painted its hull and cockpit area with the
latex. With latex, you can easily touch up gatored areas with a
brush/sponge.
