One of the local papers is advertising a 1995 Chaparral 2250 SLC. I
can't find any information on this boat. NADA Guides doesn't list any 2250 or SLC for any year. I can't find any other one for sale nor can I find any reference to one on Google, Yahoo, etc... There is a picture in the ad that clearly shows the 2250 SLC. I only want the weight and value of the boat. Any help is appreciated. |

If it's just a case of a model year, and not a model number being off
that is explainable. The law allows a boat builder to renumber unsold boats so they can remain "new" after the turn of a model year, with some limitations based on the type or amount of changes that occured to that model, (if any) when the nominal year changed. You often see HIN's with a -* after the regular series. In this case, that would be 94-5. That HIN would indicate that the boat was a 94 model, still unsold and being represented as "new" in '95. We should package that for people. "Yes, M'am, you may be turning 53, but for a very modest investment we'll restamp your transom to indicate you're only 35." :-) If the OP can find a weight for a 94 boat, but not a 95, that would also indicate a model-year holdover. |
