Interesting new boat
I got aboard a new 35' steel trawler today.
The boat is being imported by a dealer in Olympia, WA. Very interesting. Lot's of extremely "salty" touches. For example, many of the stowage areas for items like binoculars, spare radios, etc are recessed wells rather than open shelves. All exterior windows are set up to have Lexan storm covers bolted on. Apparently the guy who owns the company that builds the boat has seveal thousand miles of bluewater sailing to his credit. This is a full displacement, round chine boat. Has a soft set dockside, despite an impressive displacement. I suspect it will ride out about like a Lord Nelson tug. Could possibly be a fairly decent sea boat. Seems like a decent value. Single John Deere diesel, bow thruster, adequate electronics package, etc, all for under $200k. I'll be writing an article about this boat in late summer. Should be fun. http://www2.yachtworld.com/capitalci...yyachts_2.html |

(snip for brevity) http://www2.yachtworld.com/capitalci...yyachts_2.html Cool, a Beuhler design in production. It's a good looking boat for sure and sounds like a lot of thoughtful touoches... but why *steel* for heaven's sake? Fair Skies- Doug King |

I like the boat Chuck I really do, I certainly have no issue with it's origins, but I do find you now spruiking Chinese boats????; is more than a Koala can bear:-). After all your shock horror a few months ago about a $5 Chinese toaster???? A boat broker nor a socialist never lets principle get in the way of a quick deceptive buck hey?? Oh well at least it's on topic & on par. K Very interesting. Lot's of extremely "salty" touches. Hey hey hey in China it does:-) Still telling lies I see Harry, Oh well at least these days everyone "knows" you're just a liar, even those who are syill stupid enough to be your groupies. Here's your lie of the day:-) K When referring to how he sold off his Dad's imaginary, absolutely no trace of, OMC dealership what a lie that was all on it's own!!( he posted the following lie, damn he must have the longest nose:-)) Poor Harry uneducated simpleton that he is, so inadequate he makes up stories about imaginary wife, parents, boats, education, employment etc etc etc ; but not so harmless; he real life stalks female news group contributors, this sick liar is seriously dangerous. "I sold off nearly $3,000,000 in new motors and boats, depressing the new boat industry in southern Connecticut for an entire season. Everything was sold...every cotter pin, every quart of oil, 30 days after I started. For near full-retail, too." $3,000,000 in the mid 70s???, full retail??? 30 days??? His imagination is as mad as he is in real life!!! |

origins, but I do find you now spruiking Chinese boats???? Spruiking? I said it was interesting. It's a new boat, at least to this end of the country. Many people might not be aware of it. I also said the boat was imported, so what's the Aussie dung about "deceptive"? Mentioning this boat is on topic. No apologies from me. |

bb Here lies the probable end of a thread about a boat. Interrupted and derailed out of nowhere by an unrelated personal attack. Oh well, who would want to waste time discussing boats in a boating NG anyway? Much more fun to dis-(and)-cuss Harry Krause.....(judging by the preferences exhibited by so many here). Too bad. |
