Probably Iran, since they're closest to developing nukes. There may

be

a need to hit Saudi Arabia militarily if we're able to isolate them

They were not "fertilizer bombs" as used in Oklahoma City.
There was nerve gas in the mix.

That is yet to be determined. The only positive identification of the
chemicals I have seen stated that a "large portion" of the mix was
just sulfuric acid, which seems to indicate that the attackers simply
wanted to contaminate the area with toxic chemicals.

My ex-neighbor is a fireman. He was trained to deal with chemicals like
that. This guy's an idiot and HE could handle it. I'd be real surprised if
sulfuric acid could create the kind of Armageddon our government makes it

Well Jeez, Saudi Arabia was a safe haven and provided funding for al
Qaeda long before we went to Iraq. Further, 15 or the 19 hijackers who
conspired to kill 3000 of our brethren were Saudi nationals. Why didn't
we invade their country?

Because our economy couldn't handle the economic shock of the lost oil
supply. Of course, Iraq provides not only the staging area to strike
against the other countries in the region...but also enough oil to keep our
economy going should bin Laden successfully oust the Saudi royals.

So economic considerations should trump Bush's "Charge to keep?" That's
not very Christian of you.

There's plenty of evidence of terrorist activity in Saudi Arabia right

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - A purported message from the al-Qaida

"The (allegation) that there was a chemical bomb to kill thousands of people

Might help if you quoted everything Senator Kerry said, rather than just
what you wanted to hear..

MATTHEWS: You‘ve spoken at length and very completely about the how
question. But why do you think we went to war? If there was exaggeration
of WMD, exaggeration of the danger, exaggeration implicitly with the
connection of al Qaeda and 9/11, what‘s the motive for this? What‘s the
why?

Why did Bush and Cheney and the ideologues around take us to war? Why do
you think they did it?

KERRY: It appears, as they peel away the weapons of mass destruction
issue—and we may yet find them, Chris. Look, I want to make it clear. Who
knows if a month from now, three months from now, you find some weapons?
You may.

But you certainly didn‘t find them where they said they were. And you
certainly didn‘t find them in the quantities that they said they were.

And they weren‘t found—I‘ve talked to some soldiers who‘ve come back, who
trained against the potential of artillery delivery, because artillery was
the way that they had previously delivered and it was the only way they knew
they could deliver.

Now we found nothing that is evidence of that kind of delivery.

So the fact is that, as you peeled away, I think it comes down to this
larger ideological, neo-con concept of fundamental change in the region and
who knows whether there are other motives with respect to Saddam Hussein.

But they did it because they thought they could. Because they misjudged
exactly what the reaction would be and what they could get away with.

And they did it, that misjudgment, against the warnings of countless numbers
of people, including General Shinseki, who they then isolated and tarnished.
They did it against the warnings of Brent Scowcroft, Jim Baker, others.

They did it against the warnings of his father in his book about why they
didn‘t go in. And they did it against the warnings of many of us who said
winning the war is not the complicated part. It‘s winning the peace that‘s
complicated.

And I think presidents need to be held accountable for those kinds of
decisions.

Just yesterday, the State Dept. released a report showing that international
terrorist incidents reached their lowest level since the late 1960's.

The report also made mention of the fact that they didn't "count" the
attacks made against our troops in Iraq, because those attacks were made

The decline in terrorist incidents must be from one of two things:
1) we've been pretty successful in our war on terrorism

2) the terrorists haved focused their attacks on our armed troops...people
who are much better equipped to fight back than civilians in the WTC

Since you liberals refuse to acknowledge that Bush's war on terrorism has

He's an author and international journalist...who was also an aide and
speechwriter to Jimmy Carter, and a top aide to Tip O'Neill.

He's not just a TV personality.

Who is Chris Matthews?
What station?

You're kidding, right? He worked for several Presidential

administrations,
and is one of the top news talk show hosts in the country...on MSNBC.

Not everyone lives their lives based on television.

Ancient history. Today, he's a TV personality.

Do you ever shut off the TV for an entire week and think for yourself?

I didn't see the program. I read the transcript on the internet. I've
already told you that I rarely watch TV.

Uh-huh. Your words betray you.
In other words, you're a lying *******.
All you do is parrot the press.

Of course I wouldn't like it. However, my kids are 4 1/2, 2 1/2 and

1
years
old. I'd prefer we deal with the radical Islamics now rather than

in
13
years when my oldest is draft age...*AND* those same countries have

nukes.

Bottom line: You'd prefer to send other people's kids to die or be
maimed, either physically or mentally or both.

Just yesterday, the State Dept. released a report showing that

international
terrorist incidents reached their lowest level since the late 1960's.

The report also made mention of the fact that they didn't "count" the
attacks made against our troops in Iraq, because those attacks were made
against combatants.

The decline in terrorist incidents must be from one of two things:
1) we've been pretty successful in our war on terrorism
or
2) the terrorists haved focused their attacks on our armed

troops...people
who are much better equipped to fight back than civilians in the WTC

Since you liberals refuse to acknowledge that Bush's war on terrorism

has
been pretty darned successful, then that means you have to credit the

drop
to reason number 2 mentioned above. If that's the case, then I'll ask

you:
Wouldn't you rather the attacks be directed against our forces (who are
better trained and equipped to defend themselves) than some innocent
American just going about his/her daily life?

Yes. However, it would be even one step better if we'd learn to stop
recreating the problem over and over again, and if the comfortables, like
you, would entertain the right amount of rage when your leaders choose NOT
to learn.

NOYB is cowardly, is glad Bush forces others to fight his battles, so that
NYOB can sit on his fat ass and watch mainstream TV.
He should be drafted and sent to Iraq, so he can be stripped naked and
tortured and raped, then killed.

People should be submitted to the exact same thing they submit others to.
What goes around......

I didn't see the program. I read the transcript on the internet. I've
already told you that I rarely watch TV.

EVERYTHING and think for yourself?

Doug,
The point of my post had nothing to do with Chris Matthews nor his opinion.
It had to do with a statement made by John Kerry...and since I don't get a
newspaper (why would I if it's on the internet), turning off my TV,
internet, and radio would mean I'd receive no news at all. Then what could
we talk about? Boats?

But doctor, there ARE conservatives who think the war is a farce, and your
boy's economic "thoughts" (?) too.

I've read that at Andy Grove's (of Intel) first or second place of
employment, people would whisper about why the guy spent to much time
looking out the window. They were told to leave him alone because whenever
he looked out the window, he came up with a good idea. No TV, no internet,
just the window.

I have no windows in my office.

(To save you the trouble of posting it: "Maybe that's the problem". Right?
