Gunshot wound, left arm, in a firefight on river patrol. 2. Shrapnel wound, right arm, bomb near patrol boat. 3. Shrapnel wound, left thigh. Wow! Those sound like some serious wounds. How long did he spend in the hospital for each of his injuries? You don't consider gunshot and shrapnel wounds serious? You must have missed the editorial, you too Harry, from an officier that served with Kerry. The editorial was neutral at best but, the one part that was interesting described how Kerry was adamant about getting Purple Hearts for any and all injuries. The way I read it was that Kerry figured out that if he got three Purple Hearts, for any and all injuries, he could get sent home quickly. You're right, Bert, the Washington Post, one of Harry's favorites, did a good job of 'questioning' the medals Kerry came home with, especially the Purple Hearts. John H Bert never saw combat and you have medals for what, attendance? |
