Oh yea Asskisser and Harry you need to look at Kerry's Purple Hearts and

how
he got them.. Just a little fact finding mission.or do you have the guts

to
look for yourself.

1. Gunshot wound, left arm, in a firefight on river patrol.
2. Shrapnel wound, right arm, bomb near patrol boat.
3. Shrapnel wound, left thigh.

Wow! Those sound like some serious wounds. How long did he spend in the
hospital for each of his injuries?

You don't consider gunshot and shrapnel wounds serious?

Some are, some aren't. His fall in the latter category.

You must have missed the editorial, you too Harry, from an officier that
served with Kerry. The editorial was neutral at best but, the one part that
was interesting described how Kerry was adamant about getting Purple Hearts
for any and all injuries. The way I read it was that Kerry figured out that
if he got three Purple Hearts, for any and all injuries, he could get sent
home quickly.

Sounds like a winning plan to me. The best thing anyone could do in
Vietnam while we were waging war against the Vietnamese people there was
to get the hell out, hopefully in one piece.

Don, you are missing the point. Indeed one would think that gunshot and
shrapnel wounds would be serious, especially if they resulted in being
honored with Purple Hearts. On would think that they would also result in
some serious hospital time for recovery.

The problem is that Kerry served no serious time in the hospital due to
these "wounds". In fact I think he spent no overnight time in any hospital
as a result of these *injuries*.

What a piece of **** this man is.

My dad was shot clear through the leg, didn't stay overnight in the hospital
either.
Yet that wound bothered him til the day he died.
I bet Kerry's bothers him too.

What a piece of **** this man is.

All politicians are that way.
They should all be rounded up and gutted.

It's best to gather all the paperwork while one is still on active duty, for
the Army has a unique way of *forgetting* things after the soldier gets out.

The way I read it was that Kerry figured out that
if he got three Purple Hearts, for any and all injuries, he could get sent
home quickly.

You're not suggesting he shot or shrapnelled (is that a word) himself are
you?
The fact is, he was injured in combat three times, received three purple
hearts, and with that you find fault?

There are documented cases from virtually every modern war of soldiers
suffering what you would think of as serious wounds (like your Dad), yet
insisting on returning to the line and their fellows as soon as possible, if
they were anywhere near ambulatory. Likewise there are cases of soldiers
suffering cuts and bruises that wouldn't slow a carpenter from a day's work,
yet insisting on the full treatment and documentation of their injuries.

Such cases mean little in the long run, but speak mainly to the character of
the individual involved.
