Unfortunately Chuck, that pronunciation *is* typical for blacks in this
area. I live in SC, and while all blacks don't speak that way, a large
number do. And most of these aren't uneducated people... I can think of
several from my graduating class in high school that required concentration
to be able to understand.

It goes on to this day. It's a *choice* made by them to speak in that
manner. It severely limits their acceptance by mainstream society, and the
opportunities available to them. You, the ACLU, and the NAACP do them no
favors by coddling and accepting their behavior, and telling Bill Cosby to
shut up when he points it out. You... the PC crowd, *are* part of the
problem.

Like any American city, their are parts of Columbia, SC that are pockets of
drug and crime activity. The Columbia Police Dept.started a "Clean Sweep"
program a couple of weeks ago to try to stem the drug activity in the
downtown area. The ACLU and NAACP were quick to swoop in and proclaim that
blacks were being targeted by the police. They called news conferences and
condemned the activities. To the local news show's credit, when they
covered this, they showed one final clip at the end. It was several black
women who were saying that they *welcomed* the clean sweep program in their
neighborhoods! They were tired of the drugs and crime, and wanted to
reclaim their neighborhood. The organizations get so caught up in pushing
their agendas that they forget to listen to their constituents. Pretty much
like the PC crowd... squashing any recognition of reality, just pushing
their blind agendas.

You forgot these quotes of yours in this thread:

"JimH, if you're black then you were merely disrespecting your own
ethnicity and not that of someone else. My criticism would still be
warranted, but my comment less than accurate if you are black. We have
no information upon which to base an assumption that you are white, and
it isn't important either way."

"So, is it supposed to be funny because we're laughing at the ethnic
speech, or because we're laughing at a physical disability?"

"And if Mike Tyson were white, it wouldn't *be* a racist joke."

"Why not tell one where ol' Rasmus gets an ass full of buckshot stealin'
wattamelon? You could defend that by pointing out you noticed a person
of color buying watermelon down at the market just the other day."

Many more in this thread but those show you found the joke to be
racist....which makes *you* the racist.

Now spin away Chuck.

In the last day or so I added to a discusion about trailers and I made a
comment about fishing earlier today.

I have a little flatbottom boat and motor I use for fishin and such and have
no real interest in fancy boats. All I want from my boat is the motor to
start and run when I have time off from work so I can fish and putt around
down here.

Every so often there is a boat discussion or a fishing discussion here I
drop in on and sometimes add something. I've just not seen a discussion
group like this one where there is so much animosity aimed at so many people
and it has been sorta funny to watch all the posts this week about krase and
he isn't even been posting this week. Talk about a bunch of obsesssed guys,
jesus.

If I recall you no longer have a boat, right, and most of your posts here
have nothing to do with anysort of boating.

Why are you picking on me suddenly?

find offense in everything that is said.

Comedians have added more value to people than anything a failed used car
salesman or failed used boat salesman ever has. Lighten up and enjoy
life,
blacks have enjoyed making fun of ebonics as much as anyone. Blacks have
enjoy making fun of "white accents", only a loser wouild take offense at a
black making fun of a redneck accent or uptight white behavior.

My guess is you would be offended

Gould,
Have you ever seem any comedian who has not poked fun at other people
or
situations?
You are one pompous asshole.

******

Well that certainly makes sense. Let's allow comedians to determine
what constitutes acceptable behavior.

Chuck does not find offense in everything that is said. Harry, et al, have
said
much more despicable things about people, their parents, and their race,
but
Chuck has said nothing.

Chuck comments when someone has different political convictions.

Another harry lover who wishes him well?

Is there a secret handshake?

Some of you guys remmind me of first grade where the teacher whacked us with
a ruler if we didn't stop.

Areny you a fisherman john? Catch any good uns lately? I'm off work for a
few more days and I try to get out for a few hours every day but it is very
hot here. Anyway the reds and specks are biting.

I would venture to say I've posted more fishing reports here than you have. No,
if you follow along, you'll know my boat's broke. Should be ready this weekend,
but I don't fish on weekends. My next opportunity will be next Wednesday.

I wish neither good nor bad for Harry. Harry will get what Harry deserves. If he
is gone, the group will not be hurt, that's for damn sure.
