Freeing a seized OMC... (2nd post attempt)

Hi All,
I am trying to get my boat running. The engine has been sitting for two
years when it was stored (oil in the cylinders and antifreeze in the block).
The engine does not spin with the starter, what is the process to get it
spinning? I pulled out the plugs and they were clean (no rust), the oil in
the engine is clean (no water) and it smells fine. My uncle says to just
put a breaker bar on the balancer and rock it back in forth until it spins.
Is this ok, it seams to me that would be very hard on the bearings? The
engine is an OMC stern drive 260 (1986 Chevy 350).

Thanks for the advice.

I know a couple of folks who work on rust-fused engines routinely: if the
mystery oil doesn't work (should free up the rings-to-cylinder-wall fusing),
they fill the crankcase with oil all the way up to the head (in case there
are bottom end fusings), let it sit for a week, then use the breaker bar
again. Good luck.

Your uncles advice is OK. Just don't over do it. Before you blame the

engine
you need to remove the stern drive and/or the starter. (starter is easier

to
remove, usually.) If you still cant get the engine to roll over, fill the
cylinders with mystery oil and wait anywhere from a day to a week and try
again.
