Sloppy snippage and attribution? -tk] there was no need for patrols...the attacks would lighten up. Sounds like a plan, can we make a practice run on the communist republic of Canada? Why not on Washington, the corporate slave headquarters camp of America? Most of the native Hawaaiins would nuke their agressors in a second. Look first to your own eye. Why do so many right-wing assholes like you have such hatred for Canada, Because they're too stupid to realize that legalizing marijuana is bad for society, Who is stupid? Would it cause as many deaths as tobbacco or alcohol or gasoline in SUVs? Smoking one joint just automatically renders the smoker a useless, unemployable criminal for life, navel gazing peacefully in a corner, until paranoia causes him to stop, or at least, cut back? Besides which, if you didn't know, Canada does not propose legalising cannabis, but only decriminalising possession of small, personal amounts. The courts can't handle all of the cases in legal sequence so other more seriously accused criminals are being let off for want of timely prosecution. Further, the still debated proposed law would deal more harshly with dope peddlars than is presently done. Besides, if a majority of the population were to admit to smoking it would you still insist they have no right to do it? Canada, unlike the states or the Soviet Union, is not a prison for it's citizens. I agree that marijuana ought to be decriminalized, and thereafter be subjected to the same regulation and taxation as booze. I believe it, like heroin, meth, cocaine, etc, would be better controlled by taxation to support education and treatment, and that providers, like with tobacco, should be liable to tort from victims, since if there were no pushers, there would be fewer addicts, fewer problems. MJ is not addictive, like booze or nicotine, or gasoline, or heroin, or cocaine, or food, or water, or air. Agreed, as to mj, but it does cause harm, but possibly no more than drinking. I wouldn't object to the decriminalization of very small quantities of the other drugs, but they are very addictive and harmful. and gay marriage is an abomination. Oh yeah...and they can't keep their politically intrusive noses out of *our* business. *Government* has no business in the bedrooms of the nation, except perhaps in ensuring the quality of condoms. According to your constitution, it is a human right to persue happiness until and unless it injures some one else. No victim, no crime. What people do for harmless pleasure is no-one else's business. Rest assured, God will sort them all out, as He decides. It's not your job. Don't ask, don't tell. Agreed. Consensual sex between adults is none of the government's business. "Conservatism" as it is practiced in this country is all about control. |
