Why not on Washington, the corporate slave headquarters camp of America? Most of the native Hawaaiins would nuke their agressors in a second. Look first to your own eye. Why do so many right-wing assholes like you have such hatred for Canada, Because they're too stupid to realize that legalizing marijuana is bad for society, Who is stupid? Would it cause as many deaths as tobbacco or alcohol or gasoline in SUVs? Smoking one joint just automatically renders the smoker a useless, unemployable criminal for life, navel gazing peacefully in a corner, until paranoia causes him to stop, or at least, cut back? Besides which, if you didn't know, Canada does not propose legalising cannabis, but only decriminalising possession of small, personal amounts. The courts can't handle all of the cases in legal sequence so other more seriously accused criminals are being let off for want of timely prosecution. Further, the still debated proposed law would deal more harshly with dope peddlars than is presently done. Besides, if a majority of the population were to admit to smoking it would you still insist they have no right to do it? Canada, unlike the states or the Soviet Union, is not a prison for it's citizens. I believe it, like heroin, meth, cocaine, etc, would be better controlled by taxation to support education and treatment, and that providers, like with tobacco, should be liable to tort from victims, since if there were no pushers, there would be fewer addicts, fewer problems. MJ is not addictive, like booze or nicotine, or gasoline, or heroin, or cocaine, or food, or water, or air. and gay marriage is an abomination. Oh yeah...and they can't keep their politically intrusive noses out of *our* business. *Government* has no business in the bedrooms of the nation, except perhaps in ensuring the quality of condoms. According to your constitution, it is a human right to persue happiness until and unless it injures some one else. No victim, no crime. What people do for harmless pleasure is no-one else's business. Rest assured, God will sort them all out, as He decides. It's not your job. Don't ask, don't tell. The first commandment in Genesis is "Be fruitful and multiply." The second commandment in Genesis is "Do not partake of the tree of knowledge of good and evil." Judge not, lest ye be judged. It was paranoia, self judgement and shame that caused Adam and Eve to don clothing. That human judgement, not God's judgement, was their sin, and it payed wages. After six of God's days creation that took about 12 billion of our years, culminating in His invention of evolution, God rested. He still rests, free of us, watching to see if we can figure out how to do miracles by faith, like deciphering Nazi codes in the air to win the war, accomplished by Englishmen in ships at sea, and by recreational logisticians and mathematicians building computing machines on the land, spirits empowered by fire and steam and magnets and sparks in mysterious ways. The general tyrrany of freedom is that it must be granted before it can be claimed. The specific tyrrany is that if you choose, you also choose the consequence. You know: Swim, get wet. Head up, luff. Buy a toy, feed it batteries. Idle away time in pointless arguements, find life too short, etc. First, of course, you must free your own mind from the teachings of man's church and corporate government. You may govern your own self, but not others. Government has no right to govern men, but is only constituted to provide defense of justice and govern concienceless corporations, weights, measures, etc. Do no harm, if you want no harm. The golden rule is not a rule, it is an observation of the natural consequences of your own actions, averaged out over the entire world. If you don't want your stuff stolen, don't steal, if you don't want polluted air, don't pollute. Repent and forgive repenters, be forgiven, etc. Now, about this nosiness... I am sorry to intrude, but I don't see any obvious reference to recreational boats. Perhaps I am reading the wrong news group? Terry K |

Canada, unlike the states or the Soviet Union, is not a prison for it's citizens. I agree that marijuana ought to be decriminalized, and thereafter be subjected to the same regulation and taxation as booze. Agreed, as to mj, but it does cause harm, but possibly no more than drinking. I wouldn't object to the decriminalization of very small quantities of the other drugs, but they are very addictive and harmful. and gay marriage is an abomination. Oh yeah...and they can't keep their politically intrusive noses out of *our* business. *Government* has no business in the bedrooms of the nation, except perhaps in ensuring the quality of condoms. Rest assured, God will sort them all out, as He decides. It's not your job. Don't ask, don't tell. Agreed. Consensual sex between adults is none of the government's business. Fascinating how these righties can't differentiate between liberalism, the various kinds of socialism, and the various varieties of communism, and think they are all the same. I suppose it is a sign of simple-mindedness. |

Yeah, if they legalized marijuana, it would hurt the liquor industry, and you know the strong ties (read MONEY) they have with the right wing. As far as gay marriage, well, you know, the right just doesn't LIKE sex. It's dirty. |
