I have about 30 gallons of fuel I mixed for my outboard that I no longer have and I was wondering if it is safe to use it in my car, I mixed it two years ago and added the required amount of Stabil at the same time. Thanks Not a problem whatsoever. I have done this for well over 20 years each spring with boat gas mixed 50:1 and no Stabil. I dump whatever is left in the old tanks into whatever car is nearby - usually a Ford. Biggest side effect I have noticed is that the body starts rusting pretty good when we approach 210K-220K-230K miles and the car gets to be 12-15 years old here in upstate NY. Is it safe? Well, getting gas out of outboard tanks always seems to be a challenge, so use a big poly can on the ground with a BIG funnel to catch the splashing as best you can. Trying to skip this step and going right into the car makes a mess every time. Rob |
