"You know, the White House is papering over facts, such as in the weeks

Clarke said. "Even though they knew at the time from me, from the FBI,

That there invasion sure has helped oil prices, eh? I thought a safer supply
was supposed to make energy more affordable for this country. I want 10
minutes in a locked room with that president of ours. No violence. Just give
me a good-size towel I can roll up and moisten at the end, locker-room
style, and that walking rectum won't sit down for 6 months. :-)

Hell Doug, according to a bunch of folks on your side of the fence we
were going to get it all for nothing! Isn't that what "steal" means?

Perhaps the net result is that someone *is* stealing - from you and I. After
all, oil, like orange juice and pork bellies, is priced according to what
MIGHT happen in the future.

Where's jcs when I need him. Since we went to Iraq to steal all their
oil, the future should be showing an abundance of oil for the USofA
thieves!

Maybe, given your immense knowledge of almost everything, you can
explain something to me. If the administration is a bunch of liars,
and if the administration wants to remain in power, and if remaining
in power is in any way dependant (sp?) on jobs, and if the job numbers
come from the administration, then why the hell doesn't the
administration just cook the books? Surely they could claim 150000 new
jobs every month and do it in a believable way.

Let's stick to the oil for the moment, John. As you just said, we should
have a safer oil supply after invading Iraq. Never mind the fact that it
wasn't endangered to start with. In any case, the price is going up. The
administration is part of a crowd that's got its hands in each others pants.
Always has, always will. Why is the price going up when, according to their
spew, it's become safer to go & get it?

John H

Absolutely. That was the intent right? Just that if you are found out
ahead of time, you don't go ahead with the crime. That would be like a
bank robber, who got ratted out, so that the cops were waiting at the
bank, and the guy attempts to rob it anyway. What else would we have
went to Iraq for? To seek revenge for BushCo's daddy? It wasn't for
WMD's, was it? If so, where ARE they? Or was it to hunt AlQuida? Hmm,
they weren't there, neither. So, was it an attempt for oil, or was it
a complete failure?

Sorry, I didn't key on the word "safer." I don't think I used the
term. I can see how a stable government in Iraq could provide for a
"safer" environment in the Middle East, and therefore a safer
environment for our oil supply, over the long term.

I was facetiously questioning the price increase given the liberal
attitude of a year ago, to wit, "We're just going to steal Iraq's
oil."

Given that we pretty much control the country, and given that gas
prices are going up, the 'stealing oil' theory doesn't seem to hold
much water.

Now, what about those job numbers?

For a number of years, we weren't buying Iraqi oil anyway, and other than
the usual summertime vacation price hikes, the price was pretty reasonable &
stable. By any stretch of the imagination, the war should've been a
non-event vis-a-vis oil prices. But, for the benefit of you-know-who, the
war has been artificially connected oil prices.

Hey, Einstein - remember your boy telling us that we needed to have a stable

Tell me how UNstable the supply was before Saddam, and how that's changed

I'm not sure it is an actual law, but an Executive Order. Section 2.11 of
Executive Order 12333 proscribes assassination. I'm not a lawyer, but
while Executive Orders seem to have the weight of law, they also seem to
bypass Article 1, Section 1 of the Constitution.
