Default REBUILT ENGINE SOURCE

All,

I have an '89 Bayliner with a blown chevy 305. I'm looking for a relaible
source for rebuilt long blocks. I;m in the Northern California area. Any
good or bad experience welcome.

Thanks

Default REBUILT ENGINE SOURCE

My boat had a 305 in it. When I replaced it I went to a 350. Essentially the
same engine. I went from 215 to 260 hp. The 305 was a bit of an oddball
relative to the 350. The 350 cylinders are just bored out more. You can swap
out everyhting, I believe. Ask your source when you find one. I'm on the
east coast.

I also recommend swapping to a 350. Everything will bolt right up and work
fine. You will enjoy the extra torque and hp. You will probably have to
swap props though.

Try http://www.rebuiltmarineengines.com/
They're located in the east Bay Area. I can't comment first hand, but have
heard good things about the outfit from friends. Also, like others have
suggested, go with the 350....you won't regret it.
