Default boat junk yard (parts)

When I lived in Fort Lauderdale in 1969, there was a store, two blocks from
broward medical center that was a boat junk yard ! If I needed that teak
(expensive wood) at the store it was 10 cents on a dollar in value of
basically any part, or parts or wood or metal from boats to ships.
I could have bought a commerical anchor, the size of a ford pick-up for
scrap value of $300
it probably wt around 8,000lbs
I loved viewing the old water tight port windows that sold for $15 at the
time.
One could get $1,000 in stainless steel bolts and screws in vaious sizes for
$100
that is why I looking for a boat junk yard, a place loaded with value.!!!
You have to remember, this county has plenty of car junk yards because we
have million of scrap cars, Where are the old boats and ships going to,
since fiberlgass is not melted down for metal scrap for japan or
china????????
