best $11k water ski boat?

What's the best family recreation boat for water skiing and cruising
around for about $11k? I know this is low end but my Dad is looking
at a new Bayliner I/O for this price and I'm thinking it's gonna have
too big of a wake and don't know about it's reliability / value.
