Let's see, Bush failed miserably in trying to find WMD's.
Bush failed miserably in finding Osama binLaden. Bush is failing with the economy. Bush is failing with his energy plans. Bush is failing, period. Ap Weapons Inspector Ends WMD Search in Iraq By KATHERINE SHRADER WASHINGTON - Wrapping up his investigation into Saddam Hussein's purported arsenal, the CIA's top weapons hunter in Iraq said his search for weapons of mass destruction "has been exhausted" without finding any. Nor did he find any evidence that such weapons were shipped officially from Iraq to Syria to be hidden before the U.S. invasion |

Nor did he find any evidence that such weapons were shipped officially from Iraq to Syria to be hidden before the U.S. invasion You missed a key portion of the report: "However ISG was unable to rule out unofficial movement of limited WMD-related materials." And how did they come to the conclusion that Iraq didn't "officially" ship WMD to Syria? Here's how: Detained Iraqi officials "uniformly denied any knowledge of residual WMD that have been secreted to Syria," the report said. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well that solves it then. The Iraqi Officials say that there were no weapons sent to Syria, so I guess we just have to believe them. rolling my eyes What's interesting is that this report is released the same day Syria removes it's final troops from the Bekaa Valley region of Lebanon. Perhaps Assad was given a chance to save face. He agrees to a full, unconditional withdrawal, and we'd suppress any evidence that he was hiding Iraqi weapons in the Bekaa Valley region. The Duelfer report left open the possibility that an "unofficial" transfer of weapons took place from Iraq to Syria. Even if we find WMD in the Bekaa Valley region of Lebanon , the Syrians can now point to the report and claim deniability. Bush just won a hand of high-stakes Texas Hold'em...and got the Syrians out of Lebanon without ever firing a shot. |

NOYB,
I am sure you noticed, but these LiberalTrash Mouthbreathers very rarely read any of the articles they cut and paste. If they do read them, they don't have the ability to understand what they are reading. "NOYB" wrote in message ink.net... wrote in message ups.com... If they do read them, they don't have the ability to understand what they are reading. I know. That's why I'm helping them out. Here's the first paragraph of the "new" report: "Prewar Movement of WMD Material Out of Iraq ISG formed a working group to investigate the possibility of the evacuation of WMD-related material from Iraq prior to the 2003 war. This group spent several months examining documents, interviewing former Iraqi offi cials, examining previous intelligence reports, and conducting some site investigations. The declining security situation limited and finally halted this investigation. The results remain inconclusive, but further investigation may be undertaken when circumstances on the ground improve." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's certainly a far cry from the headlines that the liberal press are firing off! NOYB,
I can just see the Hanson Bros. now claiming the CIA report is biased. If you want to know the truth it is important that we rely on the Liberal News to interpret the information for us. Mo
"The investigation centered on the possibility that WMD materials were moved to Syria. As is obvious from other sections of the Comprehensive Report, Syria was involved in transactions and shipments of military and other material to Iraq in contravention of the UN sanctions. This indicated a fl exibility with respect to international law and a strong willingness to work with Iraq-at least when there was considerable profi t for those involved. Whether Syria received military items from Iraq for safekeeping or other reasons has yet to be determined." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Then why is mainstream media overstating the conclusions of the report and stating it as "conclusive evidence"? |

In the judgment of the working group, these reports were sufficiently credible to merit further investigation. ISG was unable to complete its investigation and is unable to rule out the possibility that WMD was evacuated to Syria before the war." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "unable to complete its investigation"?!?!?!? "possibility that WMD was evacuated to Syria before the war"?!?!? That's hardly "conclusive evidence" that WMD didn't exist!!! |

Here's how: Detained Iraqi officials "uniformly denied any knowledge of residual WMD that have been secreted to Syria," the report said. What we'll probably learn later is that if there were any significant weapons, they were black-marketed away more than they were "officially" moved. We'll probably also learn that the Iraqi officials you mentioned made small PERSONAL fortunes with this activity. This would fit a pattern that was already revealed over the past two years: Vast amounts of new or salvaged non-military construction materials have vanished from Iraq and shown up over the border. Remember that when you destroy a country's economy, you have to expect its citizens to do whatever's necessary to make money. This assumes, of course, that your head is not clouded by thoughts of divine inspiration. |
