I just spoke with the dealer about registering my new Merc 225 4s. They stated that Merc already has my name/assigned SN via phone call last Thursday (motor not shipped yet) and they will enter my info via computer on Mercury sight after which I will receive a mailing direct from Merc with a card for warranty work. Doesn't seem like I have any opportunity to mail anything Cert. Mail Return Receipt. Do you think a warranty confirming letter to Merc after I get my card would be in order? Nah - sounds like a good system. I'm just concerned because I got screwed by Mercury for the silliest thing and they wouldn't stand behind their engineering or product. It was my experience and may have been an anomaly, although I've heard tell of other warranty problems with Mercury. As long as you have warranty documentation, that should be fine. Don't worry about it - enjoy the boat. Later, Tom |
