Nah - sounds like a good system.

I'm just concerned because I got screwed by Mercury for the silliest
thing and they wouldn't stand behind their engineering or product.

It was my experience and may have been an anomaly, although I've heard
tell of other warranty problems with Mercury.

As long as you have warranty documentation, that should be fine.

Don't worry about it - enjoy the boat.
