Fuel Prices Feeding GOP Greed?

Consumer prices for gasoline are up sharply, without any apparent
reason. Which friends of Bush are getting richer off the rest of us?
Gasoline for this summer's boating may be up to $2.50 a gallon...

Yawn. Old news. Same threat prior to last summer but never materialized.

As previously noted, Dennis, you do one hell of a job combining smug and
stupid. Did that come naturally, or did you have to take pills?

gas prices are up because crude oil is priced in US dollars, and the US dollar
is falling relative to Euros etc.

US dollars are falling because US interest rates are so low they won't attract
foreign buyers of our bonds unless the dollar goes does relative to their
currency.

bitch about high gas prices or high house prices. They go hand in hand. Same
thing that causes one causes the other.

He-he-he. Did the nursing home staff forget to give you your meds old man?
You seem to be a bit on edge tonight. You are normally disrespectful,
spiteful, hateful and full of anger, but I sense that something is not right
with you tonight Krause.

Have a nice night.

Jim,

Im sure you have an intelligent answer why Bush is the only president
that has yet to tap strategic oil reserves to curb rising fuel prices?
Please enlighten us with your wisdom and web links of fact. Surely an
ex oil tycoon like bush and cheney understand all of this? They
understand the impact on consumers, inflation and industry? Right?

I suspect it has more to do with lack of refining capacity, and the
unwillingness of oil companies to spend some of their outrageous profits
building up their refineries.

That's not the only reason. Also included are a very cold winter in the
NE and the switch to different gas formulation. The reasons are very
apparent.

But adding to your point, just wait and see how much it'll cost you to
fill your boat when OPEC prices oil in Euros. Sailing will become a lot
more popular.

no, it has to do with the price of crude oil.

In 1990, I would have paid about $7.50 to fill the tank on my
motorcycle in the USA. In Germany I paid about $15 to fill the same
tank. In the Netherlands I paid about $25 to fill the tank, and in
Sweden I paid about $55 to fill the tank. We don't have much to
complain about.

I suppose the governments in all those other countries were run by
conservatives who were pocketing the excess profits.
