They really are not scamming you, they are scamming the mortgage companies
that they sell you name to. You are just the middle man. ; )

There isn't; they're just trying to scam some money from you to secure a
mortgage application that you never even filled out.

I get those "offers" all the time, and I don't even own anything worth
mortgaging! They're almost as bad as the Nigerian scammers.
