Columbus Boat and Travel Show
A full report:
$7 admission, $4 to park. Had very low expectations, but why not go...it's the middle of winter and we needed a boating fix. A couple we know called and wanted to go so we met up with them. They are shopping for a SeaRay 24. Laughed our asses off with our friends. Didn't run into very many people we knew. NO BAYLINERS (WTF was up with that? Usually the place is crawling with them) Mucho idiots in full RANGER/TRITON/Whatever regalia (my favorite was the display of basshole boats that had a tv set up showing big time wrestling videos ). Plethora of mullets. We play a little game at boat shows (and flea markets) called "count the mullets" We give double points if the are wearing full bass idiot regalia AND sport a mullet. A really nice 27 Crownline Cruiser that MrsBomar and I really liked. Knock 30K off the price and I'd buy it. 2 nice Eliminators that were displayed by the most disinterested people on earth. Mucho $4 beers drank by us. The usual party barge pontoon with the 350 MPI w/ Imco thru hull. Scads of other pontoons. Best part of show: My son giving Sizzle Marine (Baja Dealer) **** for stating Baja 25 Outlaw had K Planes when it was really Bennetts. The sales geek tucked tail between legs and said "I guess you are right" -- "Only the dead have seen the end of war" Plato |
