My guess is probably to run things the army does not provide such as hair dryers, electric razors, etc... These are not necessities that the Government is not providing. These are pleasures. I not saying that we can certainly make life easier/better for the soldiers but I did not see anything about infected food, no hygene products, no basic needs of life, etc... One even said they had air conditioning and heat. Last time I was in the Army - we did not have A/C. The Army is all volunteer. They know what they are signing up for. As I said, we can make it nicer and why not but the Gov is not responsible for making it nice. If they provided everyone w/ popcorn and junk food we would get complaints about spending too much money and not feeding the hungry at home instead. I think you are making a big stink out of nothing. Jeez, a voice of reason. You'll catch a lot of flak for that Tony. Better dig your foxhole a little deeper. You also sound like you've had some military experience, which the biggest whiners around here haven't had. John H On the 'PocoLoco' out of Deale, MD, on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay!
