Good luck to you folks from New England to the Mid Atlantic States. A
strong nor'easter winter storm is on its way this weekend.

Just checked the National Weather Service forecast for our area up north.

The marine forecast:

A POWERFUL AND DANGEROUS WINTER STORM WILL DEVELOP SOUTH OF NEW
ENGLAND SATURDAY NIGHT...AND THEN TRACK SOUTHEAST OF NANTUCKET SUNDAY
MORNING. VERY STRONG NORTHEAST WINDS OF 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 65 MPH
ARE POSSIBLE SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY. THESE STRONG WINDS WILL LIKELY
GENERATE A STORM SURGE OF 2.0 TO 2.5 FT SUNDAY MORNING...ALONG WITH SEAS

OF
25 TO 30 FEET ON TOP OF THE SURGE.

The snow forecast:

SNOW WILL TAPER OFF EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 2

FEET
ARE EXPECTED OVER A LARGE AREA...WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS ALONG THE
IMMEDIATE EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS COAST...AS WELL AS CAPE COD AND THE

ISLANDS.

It's times like this that I really appreciate Florida in the winter.
