John R. Bolton, Undersecretary for Arms Control. September, 2003

Notice the use of the term "no information". This was back when we were
still absolutely convinced that SH was sitting on a chemical and
nuclear stockpile of bad stuff, based on the flimsiest available
shadows of questionable evidence....

Bolton said, about Syria.......

While there is currently no information indicating that the Syrian
Government has transferred WMD to terrorist organizations or would
permit such groups to acquire them, Syria=92s ties to numerous terrorist
groups underlie the reasons for our continued anxiety.

Hmmm......John Bolton, September 2003.

I could have sworn you just said "Even the Bush administration now admits
that it is extremely unlikely that WMD were removed to a neighboring
country."

Interesting how you continue to make up stories or stretch the truth in
order to support your agenda or thesis.

"The Bush Administration" includes not only GWB, but his VP, cabinet,
etc. Look it up.

I realize that. Perhaps the emphasis should have been on the
date..."September, 2003". You did say, did you not,
"even the Bush Administration *now* admits..."?

So *now* can be some 15 months in the past?

I stand by my previous comment Chuck.

BTW, if you notice my replies to your posts they are done without insults to
you. Why do you continue to find it necessary to throw the juvenile insults
towards me Chuck?

An accusation of lying is not an insult?

Not if it is the truth, which it is.

Not if it is the truth, which it is.

So, if I said "You're an asshole", and I thought it was the truth, that
wouldn't be an insult?

One of your central problems could be a tendency to automatically elevate your
own opinions to the category of unassailable truth. Under those standards, you
could never insult anybody- no matter what you said. Under the same standards,
you could easily be personally offended when people said things you considered
untrue, (only because they didn't fit your preferred view of the universe).

There's a lot of behind-the-scenes maneuvering taking place regarding Syria
right now. Russia is neck-deep in this, and I believe that's the only
reason we haven't moved against Syria yet. There is plenty of
circumstantial evidence suggesting that Russia helped Saddam conceal his
WMD...perhaps even helping him move them out of the country to Syria. Now,
Russia is causing a huge rift in Russian-Israeli and US-Russian relations
with its proposed sale of air defense and anti-aircraft missile to Syria.

If you go back to early 2003, we hit a Russian convoy streaking across the
desert making a bee-line for Syria. It was supposedly a group of embassy
officials (driving alongside heavy trucks?!?). We tried to get them to
divert to Jordan, but they ignored our request. The wounded were taken to a
hospital in..........Fallujah. The very next day, Condi Rice (an expert on
the former USSR) was dispatched to Moscow.

There may be a new Cold War on the horizon...and Syria and Iran are the
Russian pawns in the stand-off.
