The best sub humor I've seen was in a Far Side cartoon. Caption:
"Occasionally, and especially thrilling for visitors from the Midwest, a sub
would come close enough to have its nose scratched". The picture is a boat
with people hanging over the transom petting the subs, which are floating
nearly vertical. :-)
