I've been looking into getting a two man sit-a-top kayak now that my son is
getting older and no longer wants to ride in the tankwell of my Drifter. I definitely want one with a rudder. Whatever I get will be hard enough to paddle alone when the trade winds are blowing and even more so if my son insists on paddling too (he's five.) My hand is being forced now because Ocean Kayak has discontinued the Cabo. My supplier has only four Cabo's left to sell. Personally, I prefer the Cabo because of its size, weight carrying capacity, and it's in-hull storage. We use our kayaks on the open ocean and often scuba dive from them and have even done overnight camping trips with them so cargo capacity is a big issue. About the only reason I'm considering the Zest 2 is it's a whole lot easier on the eyes and a tad bit lighter on the back. Would anyone care to convince me that the Zest 2 would be the better choice? |
