You guys should practice what you preach. Funny you mention the red state vs. blue state when talking about the homeless. Maryland is a blue state and I would assume that Harry is talking about it because he lives there. Washington D.C. is a blue state if you will and they have a very large homeless problem. Virginia is a red state and they don't seem to have the homeless problem that Maryland or D.C. have. |
Virginia is a red state and they don't seem to have the homeless problem
that Maryland or D.C. have. I imagine they give homeless folks a metrocard if they will go across the bridge. The reality is homeless folks will cluster around the spigot where the welfare money flows. |

Our weather has been low 30's in the morning, with thick tule fog.
Afternoon is mid to high 60's. And some sunshine. Fog is keeping me from boating the Sacramento Delta. bill "Gene Kearns" wrote in message ... Cambell river and Tovino / Uculet areas. Hi Bill: You could not have picked any more beautiful area to take your camping/fishing trip than Vancouver Island. How many days do you have for your trip? There are so many things to see and do on the Island that a trip up to the Sunshine Coast may be just too far. The Pacific Rim area of Vancouver Island is just spectacular! Tofino and Ucluelet are lovely. Unless you have lots of time, like several weeks, then my advice is to stay on the Island. Check this out. www.vancouverisland.com/towns.html this will give you the milages and some explainations of "whats there" Jim Carter "The Boat" Bayfield. |

Cambell river and Tovino / Uculet areas. Basically, the Sunshine Coast is the other side of Georgia Strait from Nanaimo. Victoria is farther south. You might want to consider one of BC Ferries' "Circle Tours" - you start on the Mainland, go to Victoria, north up the Island, then across to the Sunshine Coast and back south. http://www.travel-british-columbia.c.../sunshine.html http://www.bcferries.com/News/circlepac.html Strathcona park is nice toward the north, Campbell River area. Or if you're adventurous, Cape Scott Park at the northern tip ( ;) ) But be sure to check out "WCVI" (West Coast Vancouver Island)! Lloyd |

I have been to Vancouver Island before, but not for a lot of years. We took the ferry boat to Prince Rupert in about 1971. Have only seen the mainland side of the island. Taking the Truck with camper and I think the Jetcraft boat. Probably 4-5 weeks. Semi-retired is nice. Take 4-5 days each way to Canada. From San Francisco area. Visit friends in Portland and Salem, OR as well as wife's relative in Seattle. |
