I was bitching about the liquor sales hours to a Connecticut store owner. He made the point that most of the owners prefer the 8pm and Sunday closings. As most of the liquor stores are Mom&Pop type operations, it was easier to staff and allowed them time off. This was several years ago, so things might have changed. It's more than the "blue" laws - this is a very uptight state. I think it has to do with some kind of odd Puritan "redemption" ethic. With respect to the store closings - bull****. As Eisboch said - they pretty much said the same thing in MA until the laws were repealed and now....can't find one that isn't open. :) Personally, I think it's a good time for Prohibition to reinstate it'self.
