Very fair and balanced editorial.

Of course, there are those who are sure that only FOX News can be fair and
balanced, but I think the Chronicle intelligently evaluated the strengths and
weaknesses of the two candidates.

The editorial frankly expressed some deep insights into the political
polarization of the day. We are indeed, "caught in a time of political assault
and payback."

Cheney says that if Kerry is elected we will be inviting more terrorist attacks
on US soil.

I wonder whether if Bush is (re) relected we
might not be looking at a time of extreme civil upheaval, and an accelerating
disunion of the once "united" states.

If Cheney is right, (er, I should say "correct", he's about as right as one can
get), or if my concerns come to fruition, which would be worse?
