The comment reeked of political strategem...which is precisely why Kerry will lose this race. He just doesn't know how to speak from the heart, and people don't connect with him. BTW--his comment about "marrying up" was a major gaff. I think the only peple wh laughed were Kerry and Schieffer. Why would he remind people about one of the things people most resent about him? |

It was not that fact that he mention her sexual preference, it was the fact that he brought her up at all, she is not running for office, and has not made any campaign issues about her. Only the extreme leftist wackos think it was an appropriate remark..... |

Only the extreme leftist wackos think it was an appropriate remark..... One commentator brought up this scenario: imagine that the issue was about racial issues and/or affirmative action, and Cheney had a black daughter. Would Kerry have said: "Ask Cheney's daughter, who is black, if she supports affirmative action"? Kerry wouldn't have touched that political third rail with a 10-foot pole. Kerry is so out of touch that he doesn't even know when he's being condescending. |

Do you think it was more appropriate when Cheney himself used her sexual orientation as a political tool a couple of months ago? You righties seem to forget that her own father used her, making it fair game. |

If you remember correctly, Cheney and his wife used their daughter's sexual orientation for political gain long before Kerry mentioned it. |

Is there an echo in here?
Bass, you really should wait a day or so before repeating Harry word for word. "basskisser" wrote in message om... "NOYB" wrote in message ink.net...
