Tom Enforce fishing regulations, intercept smugglers etc. We do have a long coastline..east, west and arctic. The US navy encouraged us also. Seems they wanted to practice their equipment on very quiet diesel/electrics. |

I'm sorry that one of the crew died, but as I was reading that article I parsed the Captain's name as Luc Picard. :) Man, I need to get a life. Later, Tom |

Easy .. after having only spent 1 Billion (so far) on a gun registry ... they realized the tax payer still had money which can be wasted on something same retarded.... One should put these people who make these decissions IN these subs and let them sail away ... Matt |

Those four subs Britain sucked us into buying keep getting worse. http://novascotia.cbc.ca/regional/se...coutimi2004100 6 Maybe we should have picked up a couple from the Russians. Nawww. Russian troops always had a funny glow about them after getting off a 6 month stint aboard one of their nuclear subs. |

I'd say someone pocketed a lot of money for approving that deal ... and they failed to upgrade to important canadian standards like: 1. Motor runs 2. Doesnt self ignite Matt |

(actually, we sold them for about $1 to the original builder, who flipped them to another country for millions. I'm not making this up...) Maybe we could have refitted them with some "ballast" (I suggest the people who suggested the idea in the first place) and convert them to subs... Lloyd |

We sent one of the subs over your way...HMCS Victoria, I believe. Keep an eye out for it. You might get a chance to claim salvage if the crew abandons her on the high seas.. |
