Just the facts ma'am.

I find this questionable. Everyone knows that Bert is much worse than me at
posting O/T garbage.

A lot of the posters come & go...change names etc. My total would be for
the entire sample period. Some with lower totals may have blitzed the
newsgroup over a much shorter period. I say produce statistics that show the
average amount of O/T topics per day newsgroup visited.

5 of the top 7 OT posters are left wing nut cases. They accounted for

Krause alone had almost 8,000 OT posts by himself.

You need to redo your filter settings.

I went back through my outbox, post-by-post and I don't have more than
48 off topic postings out of 782 posts since March of this year and
most of those have come recently.

And of those 48, 21 were "on topic off topic".

Recheck your data.

Take care.

You've just hit on one of the problems. Example: several of the
Conservatrashers start posts each year that include my name in the
subject line. Some of these rack up 80 or 100 follow-ups, even if I
don't comment at all. Or they'll pick up a word within a message...and
if your name is in that message...there you go.

But it doesn't matter.

That's great! Thanks for pointing out the retards! I also think its
hilarious, that the first three don't even have boats!

How would you know who has a boat, or not, since you never read any of the
posts?

The guy at the top of the list is a boater.
I think the 2nd guy is too, and the third claims he owns a boat as well.

Course you'll never see this.... :-)

Two boats if my memory is correct. Some days it seems like everyone
in FL owns at least two boats. We do, and that's not counting the
inflatables and the canoe.

That's still not enough however...

One 20' Ranger

One 14' Starcraft "tin" boat.

One Sailfish

One Laser.

One canoe.

Net,
I feel your pain. A lot of this stuff should be takes over to
rec.fishing, as the participants are just baiting each other to see who
bites, I can just visualize some of these guys sitting back saying "I got
ya, another one bites the hook". For better or worse it's a community and
you just can't shut some people up. I used to use my blocker a lot more in
the past, but you never know when a topic turns into something interesting.
I guess we're all guilty of OT posts (like this one here) to one degree or
another. I just try to keep it pleasant. :-)

the perfect list for someone to cut-n-paste into their own kill file

Thanks again.

It's a shame that some of the chronic bitchers never contribute a damn thing to
make it a better newsgroup or more on topic.

Those who think this is a spectator sport should check the price on their
admission ticket.........looks like they get their moneys' worth, doesn't it?

Hey Paul.

I'm not in any pain about it...I never see those clowns. I just think its
funny, that their postings were documented, and pointed out, just to show
just how ignorant and stupid they really are.

Even funnier is the fact that the top abusers don't even have boats.

And I personally don't think comments and observations *about* the group are
off-topic. Discussing the health and well being *of* the group, can be
nothing more than dead on-topic.

Well, looks like were taking the ski boat out of the water this
weekend...its getting into the 40s over night here in Ohio...hope you had a
good season too.

Take care.

Too bad you won't see this Netsock.

I'd love to see a list of your "on-topic" posts.

All you ever do is bitch about other people, and then put up a filter excluding
almost everybody except yourself so you can call names, lob insults, and stay
effectively insulated from rebuttal. When I was about six years old, I knew
some girls who acted the same way.

Calling Kearns a "lying idiot" is ridiculous.
Go countersink yourself.

don't know about junnie's politics (I don't read politcal posts), but do feel

There *is* something wrong with the basic count premise of that OT list.....
I've never initiated an OT post (that I can recall) and rarely get sucked
into one. Usually when I do it's just to call a forensic "foul" as it were.
