You should probably go back further and blame Truman for KEEPING us in SE
Asia in the first place.


Actually Ike. Truman let France back in after WW II and both Truman and Ike
were supplying munitions to the French. But after Dien Bien Phu (sp?) Ike
sent in advisors even after De Gaulle advised Ike that it was really bad
move to get involved in the conflict.

And Truman insisted that our OSS "advisors" remain there after their work
was done in China at the end of the war. Who knows what Mao might be up to,
ya know?
