Default o.t. Take two didn't turn out as well as expected

As far as photo ops go:
Take one, script says, "land on carrier dressed as brave fighter pilot,
and stand in front on a banner that says "Mission Accomplished". Make
everyone proud of the war."

That wasn't well thought out.

Try it again, take two;
Script says, "Bravely land in Bagdad, serve turkey dinner to troops."
Add story about how the trip was almost discovered as an afterthought.

It would be interesting to know whether Bush was supposed to hold up
that turkey platter.

It's possible he was to hold up that platter for the camera, that's
exactly what he did. How could that possibly be the wrong thing to do?
Symbolism, fake turkey being held by a.... let's just say the symbolism
is what's wrong here.

Then there's the constant factor that the Presidents people are
constantly putting out explanations that make things worse. "Oh, the
banner wasn't ours, it didn't mean....The turkey was a decoration, the
radio contact was to the tower...."

If they are so smart, why do they do that?

Seems like it's getting harder to get a good photo for the re-election
efforts.

I guess we will have "Take three" to look forward to

Look for the same cast, troops in uniform, and Bush. And the "re-elect
the president" committee does not have to pay for it.

I can hardly wait.
