Had the military been used earlier, much of the anti war movement would have never happened. Protests were being treated as a party. The shooting made folks wake up. And that is not terrorism. It was a lawful use of force. Lawful my ass! -- no order to shoot was given, several of those killed were not part of the demenstration, merely walking to class and hit by "errant" bullets Send button stuck? You were wrong in all three posts btw. OK follows a long cut and paste resulting from a google search "Kent State 1970" Suggest you read it in detail http://www.spectacle.org/595/kent.html Hell sonny boy..I was there. As a interested bystander less than 5 days after the riots ended. I was also at the 1968 Democratic Convention. You were where exactly? I was at work -- my 2nd son was born May 8, and 5 weeks later I drove by the campus. After day 2 what was there to see? Also as to the 68 convention, I just happened to work with people who worked the press service. I worked the 76 Republican convention myself and take credit for the slogan "Ford puts us on the Dole". It didn't take, but the press people got a yuck out of it. I was conservative like you until Kent state, then my eyes were opened to the corruption of Nixon and Kissinger. Nixon was finally caught -- I'm still waiting for Kissinger to be called to answer for "Crimes against humanity" |
