Power crews from New Brunswick are leaving for Daytona, Florida to help get
things back online. Six more crews from Nova Scotia are waiting for word from Florida before they also hit the road. The crews expect to be down there until the end of September, or mid October if Ivan causes much damage. It's almost a year since Halifax received a direct hit from from Hurricane Juan...a catagory 2. At that time crews from Maine came north to help us and were much appreciated. |

Better make sure they let the folks in FLA know that the crews are Canadian. There's a chance that some of the right wingers down there would rather go without electricity than to be hooked back up by a "socialist". :-) It's almost a year since Halifax received a direct hit from from Hurricane Juan...a catagory 2. At that time crews from Maine came north to help us and were much appreciated. That's the way the world works best, allies and neighbors helping and respecting one another. |
