A lot of the locals are not evacuating, at least in the Key Largo area, until
we find out a bit better where the storm is going. I have tied the trawler in the middle of the canal, behind the house. used 12 lines. Removed bimini on bridge and aft deck. removed electonic heads such as gps and radar. plastic tied all cords, lowered antenna and tied down. Closed and locked all doors and windows. Got insurance papers and insurance, and if it hits, I will know where the boat is. Overall, it has been very calm, people wise. No lines at gas statioins, or stores. Only one grocery store open today, the shopper, mm 100. Strange seeing no traffic on us1. As for evacuaton of your boat, if you havent done it by now, forget it. bridges are locked down. But what the heck, its not comming here anywayzzzzzzzzzzzz!! |
