Default Hydrohoist Lift Capacity

I have a Hydrohoist Lift I purchased new in 2002 which is rated at 6000 lb
capacity. I am purchasing a boat this fall and am looking at several
possible candidates. One of them weighs in at 5000 lb and the other at 5300
dry weight. I know I can add on an addition 500-600 lbs for gasoline and
supplies.

Anybody have any experience and/or advice with lifting boats that are near
the rated capacity of the lift? Im in rough water at the Lake of the
Ozarks in Missouri and I'm sure that is going to be a factor as well.
