Mercruiser 5.0 /quicksilver throttle cable adjustments

Can anyone tell me how to take the slack out of theses cables,the
manual on the boat is kinda lousy?.I don't know if you adjust it at
the helm or by the Engines,I know there are friction and detente
adjustments at the remote control, they have not done anything,my port
side engine as a lot more play than the starboard
