It is perfectly reasonable to assume that had Gore not been cheated out
of the election, we would have had a POTUS who had stayed engaged in the
Israeli-Palestinian peace process, and the 9-11 attacks, which had been
planned for a long time, might have been put on hold or even cancelled.
