Obviously corrosion is the issue. The trick is how do you inspect all the
places where it is without being too invasive. A quick place to look is in the thermostat housing. That is usually just 2 screws and a gasket. If that is a pile of rust ... run. You should certainly look at all of the external hardware and whatever else you can see without tools. |
