My son and I are doing our first river paddling on the Susquehanna in
northeast PA. We have had a lot of rain so I am somewhat unsure about this any way to asses the safety issue ? We have had several inches of rain in the last few days and the river has risen considerably. |

Stay off it or ANY river at higher levels if you are beginners, even
experienced you should always be with a group when conditions reach beyond the norm. Not sure what kind of craft you're paddling, but DO NOT stuff your PFD's under the cockpit or use them as seat back padding, etc. WEAR THEM, KNOW THEM, LIVE THEM. Had a death here recently on the lower SusQ in totally flat water. Guy drowned after turning over his rec/touring boat. Guess where the PFD was? Contact a local paddling club for local tips and have fun! Mike "Tony" wrote in message news ![]() My son and I are doing our first river paddling on the Susquehanna in northeast PA.
