... PCU Jimmy Carter was christened on June 5th of this year. She will join the fleet in 2005. http://www.news.navy.mil/search/disp...story_id=13696 That's one sweet looking ride! :-) But, what's it resting on, in the pictures where it's on land? The rollers (or whatever) look so insubstantial. I just wish they'd ask around a bit before decommissioning old ones. Some of us might find them handy. |

People who see "smarmy" in everyone's posts tend to confuse "brief" with "smarmy". They're not the same thing. Besides, the question was not meant to be taken seriously (or it was amazingly silly). Any reasonable person will see that, even if the wheels look small, they're obviously substantial enough for the job. -- Andrew Toppan --- --- "I speak only for myself" "Haze Gray & Underway" - Naval History, DANFS, World Navies Today, Photo Features, Military FAQs, and more - http://www.hazegray.org/ |

The barn she's coming out of is the facility formerly used to build 726's. Were all the 21's built there, or was just the Carter modified there? (The LH barn is the one used for building 688's.)
