Can you imagine a democrat today saying "Ask what you can do for your
country?"

Yes. Are you a dittohead borg?

Also, aren't you also one of the people complaining about the tone and
profusion of off-topic posts?

Boy, that round landed pretty close! Paul, add 10m and fire for effect!

"Paul" gut-hooked you, John. He's one of the regular right-wing
buttskis, with a "new" identity.

And you know little about artillery forward observers! " Can you imagine a
democrat today saying "Ask what you can do for your country?" Hit pretty close
to home to have caused such a reaction from jps (and you, obviously)!

Of course I can. Democrats do for their country all the time.
Republicants, on the other hand, do *to* their country.

Certainly a better aim than you.

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall

pay any
price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any

foe
to assure the survival and success of freedom".

Now there was a Democrat. What has happened to that democratic party. A

party
that all Americans were proud of.

The fact is that if JFK were to emerge alive from the ether tomorrow,
ignorant of the events of the last forty years, and look around at the
writings and policies of the major parties, with no names or faces to guide
him, he would be welcomed by and feel at home with any group of republicans,
and be considered a moderate. Looking around at the political landscape, he
might lean toward one of his new acquaintances and ask "how did the, a,
Socialist Pahty get so strong in only, a, fohty yeahs? And why in, a, God's
name is Teddy ovah theah with them?"
