I trailered down from the South River area. All the talk was the fish

south so I pulled the boat and went for it. Strange tides yesterday. I
almost couldn't pull the boat out to take it down there 2 1/2 ft below
predictions all day, finally got it out last night at about 9.
The talk from the regulars at the ramp when I was leaving Solomons was
tomorrow (Sunday) was the day to get out. Unfortunately I heavily

mortgaged
the honey do list to get out today, going tomorrow might cost me half of
everything I own :-)
It was a little choppy with a steady wind. Took some agua over the bow

on a
few occasions. Caught him in 65 ft of water on an umbrella

It was 39F when I got up and now it is 41F. I guess I am getting old,
because that's too cold for me to enjoy fishing. Supposed to get up to
52F or so, but there's a pretty heavy cloud cover. I'm skipping today
and will likely be helping my wife hang some new drapes. Oh, the joy of
that.

One more nice day this season...and I'll be out on the Bay. But it has
to be by next weekend, because Yo Ho is headed for the shrinkwrapper
right after that.

I hear you about getting old. I can't do these all day on the water trips
very
often the next day (Today) is brutal. I feel like I'm still in the chop.
Shift subjects: I hear alot about shrink wrapping here is that worth the $$
on a 21 footer?
Coming from San Diego our winterizing was less to worry about
and I don't think anyone used shrink wrap. Winterizing is kind of new for
me,
I figured to just have it done vice trying to do it myself the first time.
Dad

I have both my boats shrinkwrapped. Before they're wrapped, they're
thoroughly washed out and waxed. Then I remove all the loose stuff, all
the electronics and all the upholstery. The shrinkwrapping keeps the
dirt out of the boat, keeps water from getting into crevices where it
can freeze, keeps the UV off the boat. It's about $9 or $10 a foot these
days.

Make sure your wrapper leaves vents; the vents will help prevent
formation of mildew.

I was planning to go Tuesday. The forecast is 70% chance of rain. May try

for
Thursday. Temps in the 40's are not bad for fishing. I would not mind

having a
cabin, but once the rod bends any feeling of cold is gone!

John,
There must be a name for that phenomenon, my feet were freezing until I
caught a fish, then they were fine?
My next target is the friday after turkey day keeping my fingers crossed.
Probably go south again,
I get home in the afternoons by 2:30 so if its nice during the week I could
go around here
(South/Rhode penninsula) but I haven't had any luck here.
Dad

I think the scientific name is 'adrenaline rush'! Where do you fish out of? Do
you get any weekday fishing times. Are you a teacher? That 2:30 time sounds
familiar. I do a lot of substituting.

I'm out of Rhode Harbor Right now I get out most weekends on saturday if the
weather supports it. I have a 20 ft'r open bow so my weather limits are
tighter than some, probably not the ideal boat for fishing the bay but... I
may try tomorrow afternoon, it looks like rain tuesday - thursday.

Not a teacher but close, I'm in language school right now, the deal is 20
hrs of class (9-1 in DC) and theoretically 2 hours taped home study, I just
take a walkman and listen to my tapes on the boat :-). So if you pass a guy
talking to the fish in a strange language it's probably me, so far the fish
haven't been overly impressed.

Dad

After the Rhode River and West River split the second creek
on the right on Rhode River is whitemarsh cr.
It's at the opening to the creek.
