My recommendation is to first think about whether you REALLY
need that bright of a light. Myself, I don't intend to go that high again. Although I'm not using it on a boat, I cannot imagine needing more than that in a portable unit. The brighter you go, the larger the battery AND reduced time before needing a recharge. The difference in brightness between 500K and 2 million is significant, but the 10 to 15 minute max use with my 2 million cp unit is what put me off on it. To get one that will give you any decent amount of use-time, you probably wouldn't want to carry it around anyway. :^) If you really need more power, I noticed that Wallyworld now has a 3.5 million candlepower unit. I think it was around $35. Oughta last at least 3-5 minutes of use between recharges. :^) -JimL Gili wrote: I'm trying to find a spotlight which will work both on and off the boat... hopefully a long-lasting rechargeable light with 2 million candlepower or more. I was already lured by the price of the "Vector 2,000,000 Candlepower", but its build and power leave a lot to be desired. I'm hoping for something significantly better. Can anyone provide any recommendation? Thanks. |
