from "You don't need a mask" to "Wear two" in 9 months it is easy to
be skeptical. Now we have a doctor at Johns Hopkins saying it will all
be over in 2 months and Fauci saying this might last another couple
years.
There are also an increasing number of doctors saying the RNA based
shots (it is not really a vaccine) might have unanticipated long term
effects. I will get the shot when my name comes around on the guitar
but I am not sure it is any panacea. It may be a placebo.

In my opinion Fauci is apolitical and goes with the best information
he has at the time. That information changes of course as more is
learned. It's not like there's a reference work on exactly how the
epidemic is going to evolve.
